Open the Book

Open the Book is a national programme of interactive Bible stories which church groups act out in their local primary schools. The 90+ Bible stories have been written especially by storyteller Bob Hartman, and have a short introduction, followed by a little reflection and prayer to which children can add their "Amen" if they want. 

Here in RWB, a team of a dozen of us from different churches visit St. Bart's School, Longleaze and Wootton Bassett Infants School. Our local team includes six members of RWBMC. We are in our 12th year of Opening the Book, and currently average about 50 assemblies/30 stories a year in the schools. 

We are always so encouraged by the enthusiastic reception we receive from pupils, and often hear from children selected to help us that they have been wanting to have that opportunity for a long time.
